MAXIMUM RIDE
THE ANGEL EXPERIMENT
This website was made specifically for a high school project. The morals of the website were basically to inform a reader/soon to be reader/or even parent of a reader more about a very popular young adult novel.
It can most commonly be used as a pre-reading website to skim across and better your knowledge before you jump into the book. The website can also be used as a post-reading reference, for a project, or something to look at and use to re-experience the novel. I also believe pages such as the “themes” page can be of assistance for you to understand the book a little more; you can take a moment to realize things that had not crossed your mind while reading and/or just read and nod your head at the things you noticed or remembered.
With the “more” page you can explore other websites with insight and information on the novel as well as learn and keep up to date on the film adaptation that is set for 2013. Also you have the ability to learn about other books in the series with the “other books” link that supplies you with small summaries of what’s to come on Maximum Ride’s journey. Take the time to click on the Amazon link as well, even if you’re not planning on buying the book! Going through websites such as that or others can show you other books that are similar to Maximum Ride and might be of more interest to you, there are also many other places where you can buy the novels, like at a local book store. Basically, the website was of purpose to help a reader or web skimmer with any personal need they might have in regards to the Maximum Ride series opening book.
For the project I was proposed many different options in which I would supply my information. There were song writing, trailer making, and even creative writing options. The reason I chose to go with the website revolves around this main fact: it was for everyone. Had I done something such as changing the ending of the novel, nothing would actually be learned and no knowledge could be shared. There is of course another reason, the mere fact that I have always enjoyed using the internet. I have become very interested in design and website creating and often do it, so I preferred to go with something I knew I could be capable of giving my best to. Things like the multiple wings you’ll find prancing around the pages were edited by me, keeping the theme of flying constant through the décor.
The perk of having a website, as I said before, was that it is everlasting. With a website I had the capability of putting the knowledge of the book online from a reader’s standpoint for everyone to see, anyone who wants it has access to this website and can use the information in their own necessities. I am not keeping it for myself nor am I going to throw it away soon after I receive a grade for it, it’s permanent and something that can be used by people even after I have graduated. With that said, it was not just a class project, it was a self-project.
